Winger lift for England

Monye 8506298 300x209 Winger lift for EnglandUgo Monye is expected to be fit for England’s final Six Nations game against France (1/5 with Betfred to win the Grand Slam) on Saturday despite being stretchered off against Scotland.

The Harlequins winger suffered a clash of heads with Scotland flanker Kelly Brown, but scans have shown no damage to either his neck or head in the incident.

England meanwhile, are waiting for further news on the fitness of Jonny Wilkinson after he suffered a heavy blow to the head at Murrayfield.

The World Cup winner believes he will be fit to play in Paris, but Sale fly-half Charlie Hodgson has been called up as cover for Wilkinson.

Martin Johnson is upbeat over the fitness of Simon Shaw, who injured his shoulder in the defeat to Ireland (1/7 to win the Triple Crown) and missed the 15-15 draw with Scotland.

The 36-year-old is expected to return to training in the next couple of days, as England look to maintain their decent run against the French – having not lost a Six Nations match against them since 2006.
