White 7792125 300x217 White sees Australia through in BrisbaneCameron White smashed an impressive century to help Australia (2/5 with Betfred to win the 2nd ODI) defeat Pakistan in the first match of the five-game one-day series.

The all-rounder fired 105 from 88 balls at the Gabba to lead the home side to the Aussies sealed a five-wicket win with nine balls left to share.

After winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bat and made 274 with opener Salmon Butt top scoring with 72 while Shahid Afridi smashed 48 from just 26 balls.

But despite slipping to 84-3, White (5/1 to be top runscorer in the 2nd ODI) and Michael Clarke (58) put on a 102-run partnership to put Australia in a strong position with Mike Hussey clinching the victory in Brisbane with an unbeaten 35.

The second game of the series takes place on Sunday, with the two sides doing battle in Sydney.
