Detroit Lions (33/1 NFC Championship Winner) defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh says he and his defensive teammates are relishing the opportunity of stopping Drew Brees and the rest of New Orleans Saints in their NFL wildcard match-up on Saturday.
The Saints have the best offence in the NFL and Brees has been outstanding throughout the campaign, repeatedly coming up with match-winning plays to take them into the post-season.
The two sides met a month ago, with the Saints running out 31-17 winners, but the result was almost forgotten due to a controversial incident which saw Suh stamp on one of his opponents.
The 25-year-old has often found himself in the headlines due to his aggressive style and says he’s looking forward to testing himself against the Saints attack (Saints 1/7, Lions 9/2).
“I don’t plan on anybody shooting our defence out,” Suh said. “You can’t discredit the type of offensive team that we’re going to face in the New Orleans Saints. Drew Brees is obviously a great quarterback.
“I look at it as a great challenge.
“We were definitely beat up the last time we were down there in multiple ways and for multiple reasons. It doesn’t matter in this particular game. You have to go out and win this game, that’s most important. It doesn’t matter what you did in the regular season.”
