Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has passed himself fit for Sunday’s big AFC North clash with the Baltimore Ravens (10/1 to win the AFC North in the division betting).
‘Big Ben’ suffered a concussion during the Steelers shock 24-27 overtime defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs (11/2 to beat San Diego this week in the match betting) and was doubtful for this weekend’s game.
However, Roethlisberger says that after undergoing a series of scans and tests he should now be fit to face the Steelers divisional rivals.
“It’s been a normal week. We’ve got a big game Sunday night,” said the quarterback.
“I’ve taken a thousand tests and passed them all with flying colours.”
“It’s part of the nature of the beast of playing this game. It’s a violent, physical contact sport and there’s a chance you’re going to get hit and dinged.”
All eyes will be on Roethlisberger to see if he has overcome the effects of that knee to the helmet he suffered as the Steelers (25/1 to win Superbowel XLIV outright) target a much needed win.
With both the Steelers and the Ravens having fallen behind Cincinnati in the AFC North both sides know victory will be vital if they are to keep pace with the Bengals.
The Ravens narrowly lost to the Indianapolis Colts last week, but might fancy their chances against Pittsburgh at the M&T Bank Stadium with last year’s Superbowl champions having lost their last two.
