Seattle Seahawks (5/6 -10 pts - Handicap) can keep their slim play-off hopes alive with a win over the struggling St Louis Rams (Evens +10 pts) - a team they have dominated in the past decade - in Monday Night Football.
Seattle are somehow still mathematically in the wildcard hunt, despite winning just two of its first eight games and holding only a 5-7 record going into the Week 14 NFC West Divisional match-up.
Arizona’s win over San Francisco means there is even more pressure on the former NFC champions to maintain their winning run.
Seattle seem to have turned a corner following a disappointing start, winning three of four while outscoring opponents 94-61.
After rushing for just 263 rushing yards over his first six starts, running back Marshawn Lynch (7/2 – First TD Scorer) has compiled an NFL-best 591 yards on the ground and five rushing TDs since Week 9 to spark the Seattle turnaround.
Lynch’s statistics make even more impressive reading considering the injuries Seattle have on their offensive line, which have stretched head coach Pete Carroll’s options.
“We’re getting close now where new guys are going to have to play next,” he said.
“Hopefully we can keep everybody together and make a good finish here.”
The Seahawks have taken 12 of the last 13 match-ups with the 2-10 Rams – including six in a row at home by an average of 17.6 points (4/1 Seattle by 13-18 points - Winning Margin).
St Louis have been outscored 114-25 during their last four visits to Seattle and managed a season-low 157 of total offensive yards in last week’s dismal 26-0 loss to the 49ers.
