New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski admits he is still a doubt for Sunday’s Super Bowl clash with the New York Giants as continues to struggle with an ankle injury (Patriots 4/6, Giants 5/4 - Super Bowl Betting).
The University of Arizona graduate has been the star man for the Pats this season, setting an NFL regular season record with 17 touchdown receptions.
However, quarterback Tom Brady’s key target is a big doubt for Sunday’s showdown at Lucas Oil Field as he continues to struggle, missing a fourth day of practice on Wednesday.
Gronkowski (11/2 – First Touchdown Scorer) picked up the problem in the AFC Championship game with the Baltimore Ravens on January 22.
While the 22-year-old has taken off a protective boot and his condition is improving, he admits he is still unsure whether he’ll be able to take part in his first Super Bowl.
“It’s feeling way better than it was a week ago. It’s feeling better than yesterday, so it’s just making positive strides every single day,” the tight end said.
“Anything is possible. I could be practicing the next three days or I could be not practicing at all. Anything is possible.”
Should Gronkowski miss the game then Brady’s offensive options will be severely limited against a New York Giants team which hit a purple patch just at the right time in the post-season.
