Wade hopes to solve Nets enigma

The Miami Heat are seeking an historic ‘three-peat’, but Dwayne Wade expects a stern test in the Eastern Conference semi-finals against the Brooklyn Nets (Miami Heat 3/10, Brooklyn Nets 5/2 – NBA Game Lines).

The two-time defending champions lost all four of their regular season games against the Nets and Wade admits the Heat have got to “crack that code” ahead of their best of seven series clash, with Miami set to host Game One on Tuesday.

Three of the Nets’ wins came by just a single point and the fourth was secured in double overtime but Wade insists the manner of victory, or how convincing each win was, is insignificant and he admits the Heat need to find a way to get past Brooklyn.

“They figured out a way to beat us four times and that hasn’t happened,” Heat guard Wade is quoted as saying by The National. “So we’ve got to crack that code.”

Meanwhile, Nets coach Jason Kidd has moved to play down the importance of the regular season clashes between the two sides ahead of Brooklyn’s trip to south Florida.

“I think they know what’s coming,” he said. “We’ve seen them four times. I think we have the utmost respect for them and they have the utmost respect for us. Hopefully, it can be a great series.”

The Heat can be backed at 5/4 to win the NBA Championship for a third year in a row, the Nets are 25/1 to take the top prize and the Oklahoma City Thunder can be backed at 13/2.
