United told to eradicate mistakes

8136780 300x208 United told to eradicate mistakesManchester United need to cut out the mistakes in their game if they are to win the Premier League title (United 9/4 to win the title on outright coupon), according to Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Scottish manager saw his side get their title ambitions back on track by beating Hull at the KC Stadium this weekend.

United have had a faltering season so far, with their latest defeat to Fulham being their fifth so far this season.

Ferguson will see his side face Wigan on Wednesday (United 2/9, Wigan 14/1, draw 9/2 on match coupon) and the experienced manager thinks there are little margins for error this season as the Premier League seems much more open than in recent years.

“There are some unusual results going round and it’s going to be a really tight league. Experience will come into it, and I think the team that stays clear of injuries will also have an advantage,” said Ferguson.

“Other than that, if you make mistakes you’re going to get punished. If you eradicate mistakes, whoever does that will have a great chance.”

The United manager recently admitted that England (11/2 to win World Cup on coupon) defender Rio Ferdinand still has no return date from a long-term back problem which has seen him miss the last 13 games pencilled in.
