Matt Cardle is the favourite to win The X Factor final on Saturday at 5/6 but the smart money may just be on boyband One Direction (7/2 – Outright) or Liverpool lass Rebecca Ferguson (11/4).
The annual TV talent show comes to end with many predicting the tightest phone vote in years with Matt, Rebecca all One Direction with great claims to come out on top.
Only outsider Cher Lloyd (25/1) is unlikely to feature in the final throes of the show and is expected to be voted out first on Saturday – to leave the final three to slog it out.
Matt has been consistently good throughout the show and, providing he has got over the sore throat that hindered him last week, the heart-throb is likely to make it to the final 2 – especially as he has the female vote (Matt to make last 2 – 1/5).
Rebecca has been praised for her humble attitude and phenomenal vocal performances in recent weeks and, if the show was won by the contestant with the best voice, she woud prevail hands down.
One Direction may just provide the stiffest opposition to the aforementioned duo on the night, though, with the teenage boys having the backing of the teenage vote and, crucially, the show’s mogul, Simon Cowell.
