Andy Murray’s recent disappointing form (7/4 to win one Grand Slam title in 2010) continued after he crashed out of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami following a straight-sets defeat against Mardy Fish in the second round.
The Scot, who won the event in 2009, was beaten 6-4 6-4 by his American opponent and looked a pale shadow of the player who made it to the Australian Open final earlier this year.
The British number one, who also lost against Robin Soderling in Indian Wells last week, did find himself 3-1 up in the first set before several errors let the American back into the game and he soon rattled off the first set 6-4.
Murray was then broken at the start of the second set and Fish, roared on by an enthusiastic home crowd, went on to seal a great win.
Murray will now have to pick himself up for the French Open later this spring and you can currently get odds of 14/1 on the Scot tasting glory at Roland Garros.
