Roger Federer extended a vote of sympathy to Andy Murray in the wake of his Australian Open final defeat and predicted he will win a Grand Slam soon (2/5 Murray ‘None’ – Number Of Grand Slams Andy Murray Will Win In 2010).
Swiss superstar Federer beat Murray for the second time in a major final with a 6-3 6-4 7-6 (13/11) victory over the British number one under the Rod Laver Arena lights on Sunday for his fourth title Down Under.
The world number one (6/1 ‘Exactly Four’ – Number Of Grand Slams Roger Federer Will Win In 2010) now has 16 grand slams under his belt but for 22-year-old Murray the wait goes on.
However, Federer believes Murray may be a victim of his generation and is confident he will make his breakthrough for one of tennis’ most prized trophies.
“He’s a wonderful mover, tactician and has a great backhand,” said Federer.
“He has got everything you need to beat the best and to win big tournaments.
“Sometimes it just doesn’t happen when you want. Sometimes all of a sudden it happens without you knowing that it did.
“He’s going through a tough generation at the moment. There’s many guys.”
