Tait makes Falcons appeal

Tait 404817 300x200 Tait makes Falcons appealNewcastle coach Alan Tait has called for his squad to use last weekend’s win at Bath as the springboard for their season, as they prepare to face Worcester Warriors this weekend.

The Falcons’ (66/1 in Betfred’s outright Grand Final betting) first league win of the campaign, 27-16 at The Rec, lifted them up to sixth in the Guinness Premiership table and Tait is hoping that confidence will grow amongst the camp.

Worcester, currently one place and one point below Newcastle, are the visitors to Kingston Park on Sunday and the coach believes last weekend’s result may have seen them turn the corner.

Tait said: “We always knew it was going to take time with so many players joining the club over the summer. If I’m honest, I thought it would be after Christmas before the players got properly in-synch, so I’m delighted that it has started to happen before then.”

Newcastle are top of their European Challenge Cup group, a tournament which they are 11/1 to win, with their next fixture in that tournament comes against French out Montauban on December 10.
