Judd Trump battled through a tough semi-final against Neil Robertson to book his third major final of the year and insists he will be able to handle the pressure of being the current 2/5 favourite on Sunday.
The 22-year-old from Bristol has enjoyed a breakthrough 12 months after winning the China Open and making the World Championship final, and will now look to end 2011 with victory in his first UK Championship final on Sunday.
Trump managed to come through a nervy last-four clash against Robertson, in which he managed to stop himself from “falling asleep” to win 9-7.
The Ace will now take on the winner of Saturday’s semi-final between Mark Allen and Ricky Walden (Allen 4/6, Walden 11/10 in the match betting) and he believes that his run to the World Championship final this year will help him on Sunday.
Asked if the favourite tag for the title would affect him, Trump said: “I don’t really take any notice of it.
“Hopefully losing in the World Championship final stood me in good stead and I can learn from that and be patient in the final.
“I’ll just relax and take it easy and watch the match and watch them get stressed out and hopefully tire themselves out.”
