Martin Johnson has urged his England players to unleash two weeks of bottled “energy, urgency, passion and emotion” on Scotland when the two nations clash at Murrayfield on Saturday (Scotland +4 evens tie +4 16/1 England -4 evens – Match Handicap 80 Mins).
The Red Rose have gone down on their two most recent visits to Murrayfield without registering a try and arrive in off the back of a crushing RBS 6 Nations defeat by Ireland a fortnight ago at Twickenham.
Johnson believes the Calcutta Cup clash against the winless Scots is the perfect game for his players to prove they can handle difficult away days and keep their title ambitions alive (England 16/1 Six Nations – Outright).
He said: “Going away from home and trying to silence hostile crowds is what it is all about. It is like any away ground, the opposition will raise themselves.”
He added: “That is the challenge whenever you go away from home, wherever it is.”
