Chester wary of Salford threat

Hull KRHull Kingston Rovers coach Chris Chester admits his men will need to be at their very best to beat the in-form Salford Red Devils on Sunday afternoon (Hull KR 8/11, Salford 11/10, draw 18/1 Match Prices).

The Robins head into the match in ninth place in the Super League standings, with 18 points from 20 games played, and they are three points but just one place outside of the play-off places.

Victory at the weekend is therefore vital but they will face a Salford outfit who have won their last two games to close on the pack looking to sneak into the post-season proceedings right at the death of the regular season.

The Manchester club have now garnered 15 points this term, helped by a 36-10 away win at Huddersfield before beating Hull FC 35-22 at home last week, and they will be full of confidence for the clash at Craven Park.

And Chester has warned his men that they will need to keep putting in the big hits all game to come away with the spoils against what he feels is a physical Salford unit (Hull KR 1-5 point Winning Margin 9/2).

“Defensively, we have to make sure we are on the ball,” he said. “Salford are playing very well at the minute. They are a very physical side and they had a strong performance against Huddersfield.

“Their pack has been aggressive in recent weeks and our boys have been told to expect a tough old game down the middle.”
