Ratchford out to finish on high

Stefan Ratchford 16732083Warrington Wolves back Stefan Ratchford has admitted he is relishing the chance to beat Wigan Warriors as he looks for a strong end to the regular season (Wigan 8/5, draw 20/1, Warrington 6/4 – 80 Minutes).

The Wigan-born star is set to start at the DW Stadium on Thursday night as he looks to help his side enter the play-offs in the best possible form.

Both the Wolves and Warriors can finish in second – depending on Castleford’s result at the weekend – and Ratchford admits the Wigan crowd will look to make life difficult.

A win could give Warrington a home play-off tie and Ratchford believes their recent form proves they are good enough to finish on a high.

Ratchford (16/1 to score the first try) told the Warrington Guardian: “It’s something we want to do. We want to get back there and put things right from the past couple of years, but we’re not at that stage yet, we’ve just got to focus.

“They are three big games that we’ve had to finish, we’ve just got to take it week by week and then we’ll go from there. It’s always nice to play Wigan at Wigan. It’s a great place to play and the atmosphere is unreal, so that’s one of the big things.

“Even when I played for Salford there it was always a special ground to play at with the atmosphere created.

“It comes down to this game and we are on the same points, so it’s going to be a massive game just to see where you are going to finish.”
