Frayssinous delighted with Dragons

Rugby League - Stobart Super League - Hull FC v Catalan Dragons - KC StadiumCatalan Dragons (10/1 to win the Grand Final) coach Laurent Frayssinous has praised his team’s attitude after they beat Huddersfield Giants on Friday night to advance in the Super League play-offs.

The French outfit managed to handle relentless pressure in the second half at the John Smith’s Stadium to claim an 18-16 win and set up a semi-final clash against St Helens (11/4 to win the Grand Final) after they were picked in the Clubcall system.

Frayssinous has hailed his side’s character after they moved to within 80 minutes of Old Trafford after twice coming back from behind against Paul Anderson’s side.

Forward Louis Anderson was due to miss the game due to the birth of his latest child but he arrived late and still managed to play a part in the game.

Frayssinous has admitted he was delighted with his team’s resilience and teamwork as they continued to shock their rivals in the play-offs.

He told Sky Sports: “He (Anderson) was due to fly this morning but the flight was delayed and he didn’t arrive until 4pm this afternoon.

“That’s where the team is. We don’t want to let our team-mates down.

“We believe in each other and the boys showed character and dug in very hard. I’m very proud of them. Their attitude was great.

“We want to keep on believing in ourselves and challenge the team that finished first.

“Credit to the boys they dug in very hard. We have got a great attitude and don’t want to let our team-mates down. We want to be proud of wearing that jersey.

“It has been tough physically because we knew we would be tired but I am delighted with the win.”
