Myler eyes England call

Stephen MylerNorthampton Saints number 10 Stephen Myler is hoping his performances at Franklin’s Gardens will earn him a place in the England (13/8 – Six Nations 2015 outright) squad ahead of the autumn internationals.

The Saints playmaker has made a strong start to the Aviva Premiership campaign, helping Northampton climb to the top of the table with a 19-12 win over London Irish on Saturday.

England head coach is spoilt for choice when it comes to fly-halves, with Myler, Owen Farrell, George Ford and Danny Cipriani all battling out for the white 10 jersey.

In what is a massive 12 months for the national side with the autumn internationals, Six Nations and World Cup on home soil, Myler is determined to do enough to catch the eye of Lancaster and make himself part of the Red Rose (3/1 – 2015 World Cup outright) squad.

He said: “I’m craving the opportunity. Once you get that opportunity it’s up to you, but that’s all I want.

“I’m not sure what’s going on in the minds of the selectors, but I’m just playing the best rugby I can for my club.

“There are a few players who have been doing well in my position.”
