Wasps look to pile on Falcons misery

Dai YoungLondon Wasps will be looking for the second victory of the season on Sunday when they take on Newcastle Falcons at Adams Park (Match Betting -Wasps 1/12, Newcastle 13/2).

The London club have fared well in the early part of the season considering each of their opening three fixtures were against sides who finished in the top four of the Aviva Premiership last season.

After an opening day defeat to Saracens the Buckinghamshire based club impressively defeated reigning Premiership champions Northampton in their last home game before being narrowly defeated by Harlequins last time out.

On paper the Falcons pose a much easier test for Wasps but head coach Dai Young is taking nothing for granted, saying: “Newcastle are playing a good, expansive game of rugby, based around a very rugged pack and have been very competitive in their three opening games with the scorelines not really doing them justice.”

Falcons have picked up only one bonus point so far this season and are currently on a nineteen game winless run, which is the third longest such streak in Premiership history.

Despite this the Falcons have won in two of their last four visits to Adams Park so a tight game may be on the cards (Wasps 5/1 to win by 5 points or less).
