Lewis Moody is looking forward to ‘an exciting new challenge’ with Bath (11/1 Guinness Premiership Grand Final Winner 2010) next season after making the shock decision to leave rivals Leicester(11/8) after 14 years at Welford Road.
The 31-year-old England international, who joined the Tigers as a schoolboy and has gone on to win 59 caps for his country, signed a three-year deal at the Recreation Ground.
And, despite playing for one of the best sides in the country, Moody insists he would not have quit Leicester for any other club apart from Bath.
Ahead of his current side’s Premiership match against London Irish on Saturday (Leicester 1/4, London Irish 11/4, draw 22/1 Match Betting), he said: “I have always known that if I was ever going to leave Leicester, the only club I would consider in the UK would be Bath.
“They play an exciting brand of rugby and having spent time with both (coach) Steve Meehan and (chief executive) Nick Blofeld, I am sure that there are exciting years ahead.
“I am really looking forward to an exciting new challenge at this stage of my career.
“Bath’s values perfectly suit my own – it is a great city and club, with a real family feel and a close knit and impressive squad.”
