Kvesic eyes Saracens scalp

Matt KvesicFlanker Matt Kvesic believes Gloucester can build on last week’s success and will go to Saracens on Saturday with every chance of picking up a victory (Gloucester 5/1, Saracens 1/9 Match Prices).

The Cherry and Whites downed the mighty Leicester Tigers last time out to move themselves up to fifth in the table, with 14 points from five games played.

Heading into the weekend fixture, they are just two places and four points behind Sarries and victory over the Barnet-based club could see them leapfrog last year’s Aviva Premiership runners-up.

It is a daunting prospect for the south-west outfit, however, as Saracens have lost only once this term and are a notoriously tough nut to crack on home soil (Saracens 1-5 Point Winning Margin 5/1).

But Kvesic is adamant that he and his team-mates will be able to pull off a shock and record back-to-back top-flight victories.

“We know they’re a tough team, they’re arguably the best team in the country and the last few years have shown that,” said the German-born ace.

“We’re not the finished article but there’s no reason why we can’t go there cause them problems and pick up points on the road.”

The hosts can boast a huge back-row trio, with Kvesic’s England team-mate Billy Vunipola running the show, but the former Worcester Warriors star insists that Gloucester have done their homework ahead of the fixture.

“We have picked out key players that are key for their team and their go forward but if we concentrate on getting our systems, set-up, attack and our defence right then we should be all right,” he added.
