Danny Care has suggested England are ready to dish out a Six Nations hammering ahead of Saturday’s Calcutta Cup clash with Scotland at Myrrayfield (Scotland +4 evens, tie +4 16/1, England -4 evens – Match Handicap 80 Mins).
Martin Johnson’s men came unstuck against Ireland in the last round of fixtures to lose their unbeaten start to this year’s competition.
Critics have argued the Red Rose lack a cutting edge and finishing power to threaten the international powerhouses but Harlequins scrum-half Care (18/1 1st Tryscorer) feels “something special” could occur at Murrayfield.
“We have shown glimpses of how good we can be. We have just lacked a clinical edge in finishing off the tries,” said Care.
England have not won and failed to register a try in the last two visits to Murrayfield but Care says confidence has not diminished.
He added: “Hopefully we can put in a strong performance and get a win.”
