Brown keeping feet on the ground

Nathan Brown 300x181 Brown keeping feet on the groundHuddersfield Giants (16/1 Regular Season Outright) boss Nathan Brown says he is taking nothing for granted, despite his side impressing in the first two rounds of Super League.

Brown’s side got their season off to the perfect start by winning away at Wigan in their opening game and followed it up with an impressive 66-6 win over Widnes on Sunday to go top of the table.

After an impressive campaign last term, many have tipped the Giants to be outsiders for the Grand Final and they have certainly started the season in title-winning fashion (Giants 16/1 Grand Final outright).

However, they face a Warrington Wolves side next time out who after drawing their first game of the season got back to winning ways on Sunday by beating the London Broncos, and Brown knows his side cannot afford to be complacent ahead of the match.

“They’re a different type of opposition and our younger guys might get picked on a bit more.” Brown said. “So they need to keep their feet on the ground. But it was pleasing that all the players, from young to old, contributed to a good win.”

Huddersfield have also been praised for their commitment to youth development and fielded an all-English backline against the Vikings, a policy the Australian coach says is all part of the club’s long-term strategy and he expects it to continue their progress in the future.

“The club decided to take that route a few years ago and it’s great that so many players from the academy have come through and are doing well,” he added.
