Portsmouth taking one game at a time

78595271 300x223 Portsmouth taking one game at a timePortsmouth are taking one game at a time in their Premier League battle this season, starting with Sunday’s trip to Stoke (Pompey 13/5 for victory on Betfred match coupon), according to their manager.

Paul Hart sees his side sit bottom of the Premier League on seven points (Portsmouth 4/9 for relegation on outright coupon), three away from their nearest rivals, and face a daunting run-in to the end of the year.

After this weekend’s tie at ninth place Stoke City (21/20 for victory, 10/3 draw on coupon), Pompey then have clashes against all of last season’s top four, which commences with a home game against Manchester United (United 3/1 to win Premier League on outright coupon) next Saturday.

Portsmouth boss Paul Hart has declared he is not worried about the tricky run of games and looks no further than the Stoke game as he attempts to plot a Premier League survival mission on the south coast.

The boss is refusing to talk about any game bar the one that’s closest and he sees all matches as “must-win” as his side are currently rooted to the bottom of the league.

“I concede that the next games are difficult, but we’ll get the Stoke one out of the way and then deal with what comes next,” said Hart.

If Pompey can get two good results then it could make a big difference to their predicament, he added.

Hart faces going into the Stoke match without a number of players, including Aruna Dindane, Steve Finnan, John Utaka and Papa Bouba Diop.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis could be forced to do without Glenn Whelan, who suffered a groin strain during Ireland’s controversial World Cup play-off defeat in France during the week (France 16/1 to win the World Cup on outright coupon).
