Brian O’Driscoll knows Wales (11/4 to win on match coupon) will provide a tough threat to the prospect of him celebrating his 100th cap with a win on Saturday afternoon.
The veteran prop is due to captain Ireland (2/7 to win, 20/1 draw on match coupon) for the 63rd time when he leads them out at Croke Park, with the Irish still able to win the Six Nations despite defeat by France earlier in the tournament (Ireland 10/1 to win competition on outright coupon).
In the last round of Six Nations games, Ireland defeated England at Twickenham while Wales were defeated by leaders France.
O’Driscoll has admitted Ireland still have “a hell of a lot of work to do” if they wish to get anything out of this season’s competition and they cannot underestimate the challenge which Wales will pose.
“Wales have produced some scintillating parts to their game and they’ll feel they will have a big performance left in them,” said the 31-year-old.
“Even a ‘weak’ Welsh side in my eyes is never really weak.”
Ireland have a strong record in recent years against Wales (6/4 to be first team to 10 points on match coupon), winning eight of the last ten, but the opposition today could be dangerous as they have scored at least 15 points in their last 16 Six Nations matches.
