Webber expects open race

Red Bull star Mark Webber (12/1 – European GP Outright) has admitted the European Grand Prix on Sunday will be another open race, with seven drivers winning the first seven races of the campaign so far.

Team-mate and defending champion Sebastian Vettel (11/4 – European GP Outright) looked extremely quick in practice in Valencia and will be one of the favourites to secure pole position in qualifying on Saturday.

Webber endured a mixed day in practice having finished third fastest in the morning session on Friday before dropping down to ninth in the afternoon and will have to review his car if he wants any success in Spain.

The Australian believes the Pirellis will once again be the deciding factor and thinks whoever manages their tyres best will win the European GP this weekend in what should be another open race.

He told Sky Sports News: “Nothing’s changed.

“We’ve got a lot of quick guys not where they should be and some guys which have the tyres working in a good window and they’re very quick as well.

“So it’s all about those four corners, the black stuff on the corners of the cars.”
