Horner dismisses Ferrari talk

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has denied any talk that he is interested in making a switch to Formula One rivals Ferrari in the immediate future (Red Bull 6/4 – 2012 Constructors’ Championship outright).

The Milton Keynes team found themselves off the pace compared to McLaren (8/11 2012 Constructors’ Championship outright) at the Australian Grand Prix last weekend, with Jenson Button taking the chequered flag in the first meeting of 2012.

However, Ferrari languished in the lower positions in Melbourne, with any thoughts of major improvements during the off-season dashed by a lack of speed Down Under.

Stefano Domenicali at the Maranello is coming under pressure for the lack of competitive edge the Italian outfit are producing and there has been talk of Horner coming in to lift the once seemingly unbeatable team.

But Horner has insisted he is full focused on helping Red Bull, as they prepare for the Malaysian Grand Prix this weekend and has no plans to talk to their rivals.

He told the Daily Mail: “Ferrari is a great team but my future is absolutely committed to Red Bull for the foreseeable future.

“I feel very much part of the team and I have no burning desire within me to go and work at Ferrari. I am happy where I am. I have a multi-year commitment.”
