Boullier issues Grosjean backing

Bet on Formula OneAhead of the Indian Grand Prix next weekend, Lotus Team Principal Eric Boullier believes his driver Romain Grosjean (25/1 Indian GP outright) has learned from his mistakes following a number of high profile incidents.

The French racer has come under some heavy criticism from Red Bull’s Mark Webber (6/1 Indian GP outright) for some of the serious collisions he has caused this season, including a monumental crash at Spa last month.

Boullier has admitted Grosjean has made mistakes in the past but believes they are now behind the 26-year-old, who will be looking towards the future.

He said: “It’s definitely time for us to draw the line and move on, but more importantly it’s also time for Romain to put it in the past for himself.

“Despite a lot of pressure, he drove a good clean race in Korea and I fully believe he now understands what he needs to do to avoid these things in the future.

“Romain’s target for the rest of the season is clear – to build on the platform he created in the last race and help the team push for maximum points in the last four races.”

Grosjean will now be looking ahead to the Indian Grand Prix later this month as he hopes to build on his seventh placed finish in Korea.
