Mouse Morris says he “couldn’t be happier” with his horse War of Attrition (33/1 in Betfred’s World Hurdle market), who will go for another Cheltenham Festival victory on Thursday.
The 2006 Gold Cup winner will take his place in the 13-runner field for the World Hurdle in good form, as he looks to upset the odds-on favourite Big Bucks – who is 9/4 to win by over six lengths.
The 11-yera-old has claimed two successive wins over timber this year, including an impressive win over Mourad in the Boyne Hurdle at Navan last month.
Morris admits that hopes the ground isn’t too quick but that he is in “great form”, with the veteran in his last season before he retires.
Jockey Davy Russell is even more confident of a bold showing in ground conditions which he believes will suit, saying: “He is over-priced and people have lost a bit of respect for him.”
