Kessler ready to fight

8052521 300x166 Kessler ready to fightMikkel Kessler is looking to prove he is the best in the super middleweight division in the Super Six boxing classic (Kessler 2/1 to win the tournament on boxing outright coupon).

The Dane is preparing for his first bout in the tournament against Andre Ward (9/2 to win the tournament on outright coupon) on Saturday night and wants to use the fight as a stepping stone to prove he is the number one in the division.

Kessler (2/5 to win on fight coupon) has only been defeated once as a professional, against Joe Calzaghe in 2007, and is taking the bout against undefeated Ward (15/8 to win, 25/1 draw on coupon) very seriously.

He admitted the defeat to Calzaghe still bothers him and is a motivating factor is his ambition to show he is the world’s best super middleweight, with the bout against Ward his second chance to prove this to a global audience.

“I am ready to fight. I didn’t come all the way from Denmark to lose and I am fully prepared and 150 percent ready. I’m in better shape now than I’ve ever been,” said Kessler (6/4 to win by Ko, Tko or DQ on fight coupon).

His opponent Ward, who has won 13 of his 20 victories by knockout (Ward 5/1 to win by Ko, Tko or DQ on fight coupon), claims he is approaching the fight in a serious manner and it will be a special night for boxing fans.

In the first two bouts in the Super Six boxing classic, Arthur Abraham knocked out Jermain Taylor and Englishman Carl Froch won on points against Andre Dirrell (Abraham 2/1, Froch 9/2, Dirrell 20/1, Taylor 33/1 to win tournament on outright coupon).
