Pipe aiming for another upset

Trainer David Pipe is looking to stay on the winning trail at the Festival on Wednesday after supplying the biggest shock of the meeting so far as he gets set to put Red Sherlock up against Faugheen.

His Western Warhorse landed the Arkle Chase at an astonishing 33/1, snatching the race in the shadow of the post from Willie Mullins’ Champagne Fever in a thrilling affair.

And there could be more of the same today when the unbeaten Red Sherlock goes head-to-head with another Mullins hope Faugheen, himself unbeaten in four.

Mullins is in blistering form having scored a double on the first day and is a huge fan of Faugheen. With Ruby Walsh on board he will go off as the 7/4 favourite for the Neptune Novices’ Hurdle.

David’s father though , the legendary Martin, made Red Sherlock his pick of the yard earlier in the season and this will be the race most are waiting to see on Wednesday.

Pipe’s stable star is set to go off at 4/1, while Rathvinden will go next best in the betting at 6/1.

Elsewhere, Gervey Chambertin contests the RSA Chase for the yard and despite a disappointing run last time has a real chance at his best. The grey is priced at 22/1 to cause what would be an upset.

Pipe also sends Dell’arca to the Coral Cup, while Azza goes in the Fred Winter and Seven Nations Army is involved in the Champion Bumper.
