Margaret O’Sullivan is adamant that Indifference Curve’s recent good form will give him a real chance of pulling off a surprise win (40/1 Winner or E/W) at next week’s Welsh National at Chepstow.
The nine-year-old will be representing O’Sullivan’s County Cork stable in the big race which will feature some of Britain’s top names, including the current Betfred favourite, Giles Cross (13/2 Winner or E/W).
However, despite Indifference Curve’s recent barren run in terms of victories, he has been in close contention in the past three starts during the autumn and winter, and O’Sullivan feels the conditions at Chepstow will work in his favour.
“I’ve been thinking about the race for a long time,” said O’Sullivan.
“In fact, I think it could have been three years ago when he ran in a race in Limerick.
“I always thought he wanted a trip and his jumping is so good that I thought he might make a Grand National horse one day.
“Possibly he will do, but the Welsh National is the next best thing. Chepstow is perhaps the toughest course in the world with the five fences in the straight but his jumping is his best attribute.
“I gave him a short break after he was beaten six lengths in the Cork National and hopefully he has a chance. He’s certainly in very good form.”
