Big Buck’s out to make history

Big Buck’s (8/13 World Hurdle outright) is looking to make Cheltenham Festival history, as the talented jumper goes in search of his fourth consecutive win at the World Hurdle event on Thursday.

The nine-year-old has dominated the event, on the third day of the festival, for the past three years and is looking to make history with a 16th straight win over hurdles.

Big Buck’s would break the record for consecutive hurdles wins currently held by Sir Ken in the 1950s but will have to hold off the main challenger Oscar Whiskey (9/2 World Hurdle outright).

Ridden by Ruby Walsh, Big Buck’s is the firm favourite for the 3.20pm event on Thursday and will be hoping to make the best of the good to soft conditions on the course at Cheltenham.

Oscar Whiskey managed to finish in third place in this race in 2011 and will be looking to put the pressure on Big Buck’s to deny the defending champion a historic victory over the three miles.
