Watson leads at Doral

American Bubba Watson (4/5 favourite WGC-Cadillac Championship outright) will go into the final day of the WGC-Cadillac Championship with a three-shot lead after a solid third round 67 at Doral.

The left-hander held the lead going into the weekend after firing a superb 62 on Friday and backed it up with his composed performance on Saturday to move to seventeen-under.

He will be partnered on the final day by USPGA champion Keegan Bradley (7/2 WGC-Cadillac Chmpionship outright) after the 25-year-old scored an impressive 66 on the penultimate day to sit on fourteen-under-par alongside Englishman Justin Rose.

World number one Rory McIlroy once again impressed on Saturday, playing the first ten holes of his third round in an astonishing 33 shots, but tailed off with two late bogeys.

Despite sitting eight off the lead, the Ulsterman is confident he could make a big impact on Sunday and knows that another fast start will only put pressure on the leaders.

“You should not be disappointed with a 65, but I feel it could have been a little better,” McIlroy told Sky Sports.

“Yesterday I was ranked last in putting, but I holed them today and I will need to do it again tomorrow.

“I need to get off to another fast start and maybe keep it going a bit better. I will have to shoot in the low sixties.”
