Rose hopes to flourish at Open

Englishman Justin Rose – available to back at 30/1 in the Betfred tournament outright betting – has revealed he is feeling positive ahead of the 2012 Open Championship at Royal Lytham having adjusted some faults in his game over recent weeks.

The 31-year-old will head into the event in a strong run of form, having enjoyed eight top-10 finishes this year, with a ninth-place at the French Open earlier this month.

Much has been made about the difficult roughs on the Lancashire course and the torrid weather the UK has endured throughout the summer, making conditions tough in the North West.

However, Rose is looking forward to taking part in the major tournament and has revealed he has been working on a few minor issues in his game with coach Sean Foley ahead of the start on Thursday, when he will line-up alongside Tiger Woods (9/1 The Open outright) and Sergio Garcia.

He said: “I feel good about everything. I had a good session with Sean on the range.

“I felt I got into a really good mind-set in France so I am hoping to carry the momentum of that as I felt pretty focused and in a good spot.

“If I can keep that chain of thought going it will suit me well.”
