Harrington to build on Masters

Irish golfer Padraig Harrington (33/1 RBC Heritage outright) says his top-10 finish at the Masters 2012 has given him the confidence to believe his can challenge for future Majors, ahead of the RBC Heritage event this week.

The three-time Major winner had been struggling for form before he finished in eighth place in Georgia last weekend, as the American Bubba Watson took the Green Jacket with a play-off win over Louis Oosthuizen.

Harrington has been having trouble with his swing but the 40-year-old has started to find the rhythm that made him a real force in the game, ahead of RBC Heritage at the Harbour Town Golf Links course in South Carolina.

With the likes of world number one Luke Donald (6/1 RBC Heritage outright) also taking part in the event this week, it won’t be easy for Harrington but the former Open champion is looking to build on his Masters showing.

He said: “I am going to take a lot of comfort away from this – there were a lot of good things.

“I was very comfortable on the golf course this week, which bodes well for future Masters.

“I feel like I found a very nice place mentally. There’s good things in me going forward.”
