Fred’s United Euro worry

Sir Alex Ferguson faces the media after his side lost in the Champions League Manchester United have drifted to 15/2 with Betfred to win the Champions League this season following Wednesday’s shock 1-0 defeat to Besiktas at Old Trafford.

The defeat was United’s first home Champions League defeat in 23 matches, when AC Milan picked up a victory at Old Trafford in 2005.

Despite already qualifying for the knockout stages and needing just a point in their final game in Wolfsburg to top Group B, confidence in United’s Euro bid looks to have been dented by this week’s surprise result.

Betfred have Barcelona and Chelsea as joint favourites to lift the trophy next May, while Spanish giants Real Madrid are 13/2 to take the title at the home ground.

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal are 7/1 to win the trophy for the first time while Serie A champions Inter Milan, who need a win in their final game to be sure of qualification, can be backed at 12/1.

Make sure you stay in touch with Betfred’s Champions League betting markets as the tournament progresses.
