The German legend will this week drive a GP2 car at the Jerez circuit in southern Spain as part of his introduction back to Formula One (Lewis Hamilton 9/4 favourite Formula 1 – World Drivers’ Championship 2010) ahead of his first test in Valencia in February with the new Mercedes car.

The seven-times world champion recently visited the team’s factory in Brackley and was impressed by the motivation of his colleagues.

He said: “I was extremely surprised at how motivated everybody was.

“This is a world champion team but it does not seem to be spoilt by success at all.

“Instead it seems to be hungry for more.”
