Hull (8/13 To Be Relegated) look to have bolstered their strike force for the fight against Premier League relegation by signing Egypt striker Amr Zaki on loan.
The former Wigan loanee, who had also been linked with fellow strugglers Portsmouth (2/7 for the drop), has revealed he has agreed to a deal with the Tigers although he is not set to make his debut until the end of the month because of a hamstring problem.
Zaki told his personal website: “I want to thank both (manager) Phil Brown and (chairman) Adam Pearson for the faith they showed in me and my target is to repay this faith on the field by helping my team-mates to do the best for the club and for the fans.
“I’m happy to be back in the Premier League through Hull City. Tigers are good side and I’m looking forward to do my best for the team.”
Zaki started last season on fire at Latics before a slump in form. He also fell out with then Wigan boss Steve Bruce because of his poor record of returning from international duty on time.
