QPR boss Neil Warnock added some extra firepower to his side on deadline day with the acquisitions of Rob Hulse from Derby County and Tommy Smith, who has joined from Portsmouth (QPR 9/2 to win the Championship).
It is the second time Warnock has signed Hulse, having snapped him up from Leeds United when manager of Sheffield United, and the Rangers boss will know all about the talents of the former Blades striker.
Both players have Premier League experience and will offer Warnock options as he plots QPR’s promotion push.
Portsmouth found a replacement for Smith as they secured the signature of former Reading man Dave Kitson from Stoke as part of the move that saw Marc Wilson move to the Britannia Stadium.
Pompey also captured Liam Lawrence from Stoke to bolster their options in midfield and the pair could well prove to be impressive signings for the south coast club (Portsmouth 25/1 to be promoted).
In other notable deadline day Championship deals Zurab Khizanishvili made the switch from Blackburn to Reading, Anthony Gardner made the switch from Hull to Crystal Palace, while Leicester splashed out £3milliion to snap up Martyn Waghorn from Sunderland and also secured the services of Japan international Yuki Abe.
