West Ham co-owner David Sullivan reckons his side are “70-75%” relegated and questioned the attitude of some players for the remaining games of the season (Hammers 8/1 to beat Man City).
Avram Grant’s side currently sit bottom of the Premier League, but are only two points from safety with four games remaining and could climb clear with a couple of wins. (Hammers 2/5 to go down)
They face a tough trip to Manchester City (1/10 to finish in the Premier League top ten) on Sunday and Sullivan has told the Daily Telegraph he reckons some of the Hammers squad will be “already looking” at the exit door at Upton Park.
According to the co-owner, Grant will have a “hard decision” over the remaining matches, against City (2/5 to win the game, draw 7/2), Blackburn, West Ham and Sunderland, whether to play those who are maybe not committed or drop them if they are not willing to fight for the cause.
“We are facing the reality that 70-75% we are likely to be in the Championship next year but there is still a 25-30% chance we won’t be,” stated Sullivan.
“We didn’t come here to be relegated. We have fantastic supporters and I feel myself and (co-owner) David Gold have let them down.”
The Hammers (14/1 to win the game 1-0) are still set to be without captain and talisman Scott Parker, who has been out with an Achilles injury, while fellow midfielder Mark Noble is doubtful with a stomach injury.
