Paul Scholes has bullishly predicted Manchester United will win their remaining seven games to secure an unprecedented fourth consecutive Premier League title – and record 19th domestic crown (Man United evens – Premier League Outright).
Sir Alex Ferguson’s side moved ominously into a commanding position at the top of the table with a 2-1 win over bitter rivals Liverpool on Sunday – on the same day Chelsea dropped two points away to Blackburn.
United still have games against title contenders Chelsea, local rivals Manchester City and Champions League-chasers Tottenham (7/4 Top 4 Finish) to negotiate.
But 35-year-old Scholes, a winner of nine Premier League titles, told Inside United: “I’d like to think we’ve got the right players, ones who have been there before and know how tough it is to win the league.”
The former England international added: “If we want to win the league we’re going to have to win every game. It’s going to be tough but I’m sure we can do it.”
