Sanchez outlines Barca goals

Chile striker Alexis Sanchez has said he expects to be fully fit and ready to help Barcelona wrestle the La Liga title back off champions and 4/5 outright favourites Real Madrid next season.

The 25-year-old saw his debut season for the Catalans curtailed because of injury but still registered 15 goals in 25 appearances under the stewardship of former manager Pep Guardiola.

The 37.5 million euros signing started in Barca’s 2-1 friendly win over Bundesliga side Hamburg at the Imtech Arena on Tuesday and said he expects to be fit and firing for the start of the new season on August 18.

“Thanks to all those who worked with me, I now know my body better,” Sanchez told El Mundo Deportivo.

“This year, I hope not to get hurt so often and so give better performances. I hope to be more regular and consistent.”

New coach Tito Vilanova has brought in Spain full-back Jordi Alba, as well as promoting three other defenders and a midfielder from the B team, and Barca can be backed at 11/10 in the La Liga outright betting to usurp the capital club.
