Harry Redknapp has told his Tottenham players there will be no cakewalk against a depleted Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield on Wednesday (Liverpool 11/8 draw 9/4 Tottenham 2/1 Premier League – match betting).
Tottenham arrive on Merseyside on the back of a frustrating goalless Premier League draw against Hull at the weekend but remain four points clear of tonight’s opponents in the race for a coveted Champions League place (Tottenham 9/4 Without Big 4).
The Reds will be weakened without Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres and Yossi Benayoun on Wednesday and Redknapp believes Tottenham can make them pay.
The White Hart Lane boss also believes Tottenham could strike a psychological blow in the race for the top four.
“I’d be lying if I stood here and said that the absence of Gerrard and Torres won’t matter,” said Redknapp.
“Of course, they are two world-class players, and they will miss them.
“But they have a strong squad. I have never been there and had an easy game. It is a difficult place to go.”
