Reality check from Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says his side must quickly forget about their 6-0 hammering of Braga in the Champions League and focus on getting three points against Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday (Sunderland 9/2, Arsenal 4/6 – 90 minutes).

The Gunners – inspired by skipper Cesc Fabregas – took the respected Portuguese side apart at the Emirates on Wednesday to kick off their European campaign in some style.

However, Wenger, despite being impressed with his young side in the 6-0 rout, insisted afterwards they must now begin to focus on beating the Black Cats in the north east Saturday’s evening kick off.

“It is the start of the season and I think it is important that we take encouragement from what we are doing at the moment,” Wenger said.

“We will keep our feet on the ground and a good concentration.

“We have another big test now at Sunderland on Saturday.”

The Gunners (9/2 – Premier League outright) have made a fine start to their domestic campaign and sit second in the table after four games, dropping just two points so far as they look for their first Premier League title since 2004.
