Owen has Prem options

Plenty of Premier League clubs are interested in the services of former Manchester United (13/2 to win the FA Cup) striker Michael Owen, according to the player’s agent.

The 32-year-old striker, who has played for Liverpool, Real Madrid and Newcastle during his career, was released by United at the end of last season.

However, the former England international – who netted 40 times in 89 appearances for the Three Lions – has stated he is unwilling to play Championship level football, believing he can still produce in the top flight.

Owen has been strongly linked with a move to the Britannia Stadium to join former England strike partner Peter Crouch at Stoke City (20/1 to finish in the top six in the Premier League).

But Owen’s agent has said a clutch of other teams in the Premier League are keen on the services of the out-of-contract player.

Meanwhile, Owen is training under the guidance of ex-Liverpool physiotherapist Mark Browse so he will be in shape to pass a future medical.
