Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill is pleased with his side’s “exceptional” season so far as he looks to guide the Villans into the Champions League places (Villa 12/1 Top 4 Finish).
The Midlands outfit (15/2 Outright Without Big 4) are up to sixth in the Premier League table after a 2-0 win at Hull on Wednesday and they now have Tottenham and Manchester City, who are fourth and fifth respectively, in their sights.
But O’Neill admits it is still possible for his side to fall flat at the end of the campaign ahead of their final games against Birmingham, Manchester City (a) and Blackburn.
The former Celtic and Leicester chief said: “We’re in the mix. We’re going for everything and guaranteed nothing. We’re not even guaranteed to finish eighth in the league at this minute.
“We’ve gone above Liverpool with three games to go and that’s pretty exceptional.”
On the victory at the KC Stadium, he added: “It was a very professional performance, and I thought we played very well, but at 1-0 the game’s still in the balance and it was good to get the second goal, and we saw it through reasonably comfortably.”
