Manchester United club captain Gary Neville has warned leaders Chelsea they face the ultimate test of their Premier League title credentials when they arrive at Old Trafford on April 3 (Chelsea 4/6 Man United 11/8 Premier League – Outright).
The England international made his first appearance in just short of a month in the 5-0 romp over basement club Portsmouth (1/14 To Be Relegated) on Saturday to take the champions back to the top of English football.
Chelsea leapfrogged them again on Sunday when they delivered another blow to Arsenal’s hopes of a first title since 2004 with a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
United have won six of their last seven league games and manager Sir Alex Ferguson feels his players are finally warming to the challenge of winning an unprecedented fourth successive crown.
Neville feels the outcome of the Old Trafford showdown against Chelsea will have a big bearing on the title race.
Neville said: “It is in our hands now and it has not been like that for a while.
“Chelsea have to come here – and that is where we want to be. We want to win our home games.”
