Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has intimated the club’s promising youngster Ravel Morrison is set to feature in his side’s Carling Cup clash with Crystal Palace on Wednesday (United 2/9, draw 5/1, Palace 12/1 Match Betting).
The two teams meet in the League Cup quarter-finals this week at Old Trafford with Ferguson set to field a number of academy players against their Championship opponents.
Morrison is one such talent who is set to feature as the 18 year-old midfielder has got people talking at the Theatre of Dreams as a player with a bright future.
Ferguson said: “Ravel Morrison was in the squad for last week’s game against Benfica.
“He’s a very, very talented boy and he’ll possibly be on the bench, at least, in midweek.”
Paul Pogba and Ezekiel Fryers, who have already featured in the Carling Cup this season, could also be given the nod by the Scottish tactician for the clash with Palace.
Defender Chris Smalling has recovered from injury and may line-up alongside Rio Ferdinand in the heart of the United (2/1 Carling Cup outright) defence as the team hopes to but their draws with Benfica and Newcastle United behind them.
