Celtic (4/6 to win the SPL) boss Neil Lennon has declared that he would be interested in bringing Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given to the club on a loan deal.
The Republic of Ireland international looks set to be City’s (9/1 to win the Premier League) number two goalkeeper after Joe Hart produced an outstanding performance in their opening Premier League game against Tottenham.
Given has suggested that he will be looking at his options and a loan move to Glasgow giants could be a potential move as the shot stopper looks for more regular football.
Lennon has revealed that he is a fan of the former Newcastle United player and could try and bring him to Parkhead before the end of the transfer window.
He said: “If it was a possibility then of course.
“He’s one of the best keepers in the Premier League.
“We’ve been linked with a lot of players and there’s been speculation on a lot of players,” he added.
Celtic have been looking for a new keeper throughout the summer with David James close to organising a move before he made his shock move to Championship side Bristol City.
